Russian COVID-19 Researcher Falls from window, Found with Stab wound

Biologist Alexander “Sasha” Kagansky, a Russian scientist helping researchers develop a COVID-19-19 vaccine has been found dead in Zamshin street, St. Petersburg after falling from a 14th floor window and was found with a stab wound.

Russian newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets (MK) reported that Kagansky was found in his underwear, appearing to have fallen from his bedroom window.

The Russian Investigative Committee announced that they have opened a murder probe into the death of Kaganksy while a 45-year-old male suspect has been detained in connection with the case. 

Russian police said that they believed there may have been a physical altercation before Kagansky fell from his bedroom window.

Kagansky who worked on cancer research, was an assistant professor in Vladivostok and had spent 13 years working in  Edinburgh, Scotland, until 2017.

Kagansky became the director of the Center for Genomic and Regenerative Medicine at Russia’s Far Eastern Federal University and was reportedly wokring on a COVID-19 vaccine.

Aside from Kagansky, seven Russian COVID-19 patients and health workers have “mysteriously” plunged to their deaths from building windows.
