Greece Signs Defense Equipment Deal with Israel


Greece and Israel are set to sign a wide-ranging $1.8 billion security deal, which includes the procurement of the flight school establishment and 10 M-346 (Lavi) aircraft.

According to the Defense Ministry, the government of Greece has approved the agreement ahead of the signing.

The Defense Ministry has added that the deal amounts to around $1.68 billion and will span more than 20 years.

Within the framework of the deal, Elbit Systems will provide kits to upgrade and operate the Hellenic Air Force’s T-6 aircraft.

Additionally, Elbit will provide training, simulators and logistical support.

This will positively affect the future of both parties as they will also consider areas of cooperation between the Israeli and Greek flight academies.
