Illinoisâ 16th Congressional District Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R) called for President Donald Trump to be immediately removed from office and replaced by Vice President Mike Pence under the 25th Amendment.
Kinzinger blamed Trump for inciting the rioters who stormed the Capitol building yesterday during a congressional count of electoral votes to certify President-elect Joe Bidenâs victory.
âThe president is unfit. And the president is unwell. âAll indications are that the president has become unmoored not just from his duty or even his oath but reality itself,â said Kinzinger in a video posted on Twitter.
The 25th Amendment requires a majority vote by the cabinet to be invoked to declare the incumbent as unfit would to the Vice President to take his place.
âIt is time to invoke the 25th Amendment and end this nightmare. We will arise from this, but we can not forget what led us here,” said Kinzinger.
